Some marks are damage. Others are memory. This bowl carries both, and knows the difference.
The tree was salvaged, already down before it reached the lathe. What remained of its life showed itself in the turning: a natural void along one edge, hairline cracks tracing across the grain like old scars that never fully closed. Nothing here was added. Nothing was hidden.
At 16 centimeters wide and 6 centimeters tall, the bowl sits low and close, its imperfections visible from every angle, impossible to place face down and forget.
Finished with Osmo oil and walnut oil. Signed by the maker. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
The tree kept its scars. The bowl kept its shape.
