Some of the most interesting work at Nanous Workshop begins with a specific need: a set of vessels for a hotel lobby, a series of bowls for a designed interior, a custom pen series for a corporate gift, a one-of-a-kind piece for a collector who wants something made for them alone.

Álvaro de Luna is available for bespoke commissions — turned objects, furniture, and design consultation — for architects, interior designers, hospitality projects, and private collectors.

Every commission is different. The process begins with a conversation about the space, the material, the timeline, and the intention. From there, Álvaro develops a proposal tailored to the project.

There is no minimum or maximum scale. The work has included single objects and series of twenty. What matters is that the project is the right fit for the workshop.

Working with Architects & Interior Designers

The most enduring projects at Nanous Workshop have begun with an architect or interior designer who understood that a space is finished not by furniture alone, but by the objects that carry its personality.

Álvaro de Luna works directly with design professionals — from early concept through final delivery — to develop turned wood objects that are specific to a project, a client, and a room. The process is collaborative, unhurried, and built around material honesty: the wood is selected for the space, not adapted to a catalog.

Custom object series — a unified collection of bowls, vessels, or platters in a consistent wood species and finish, specified to the palette and material language of a project

Signature lamp series — turned wood lamps in walnut, ash, or reclaimed hardwoods, developed to complement a specific lighting concept and interior atmosphere

Statement pieces — single turned objects designed as focal points for lobbies, reception areas, dining rooms, or private residences

Material consultation — advice on wood species selection, finish compatibility with existing materials, and the behavior of wood in specific environmental conditions

Prototype development — for architects and designers who want to explore wood as a material in new contexts, Álvaro is available to develop prototypes and material samples.

Every architectural collaboration begins the same way: a conversation.

We discuss the space, the client, the material palette, and the intention. From there, Álvaro develops a proposal — including wood selection, form references, dimensions, finish options, and timeline. For larger series, a prototype is produced before full production begins.

Lead times vary by project scope. Single objects can typically be delivered within 3–4 weeks. Series of 10 or more are discussed individually.

All architectural commissions are handled with full confidentiality.

If you are working on a project where wood objects could define the atmosphere of a space, we would like to hear about it.
