This pieces came from a fallen tree, wood recovered before it returned to the ground.
At the lathe, what the material had become was followed rather than corrected. Dark spalting lines, created naturally through fungal activity within the wood, move across the surface like traces of the tree's internal history.
At just 10 centimeters in diameter, the piece invites a closer encounter. The figure of the wood reveals itself gradually, changing with the light and from one angle to the next.
Finished with Osmo oil and natural beeswax, the bowl preserves the tactile warmth of the material while allowing its character to remain visible.
Signed by the maker and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
