Two Mexican woods in one form. White cedar for the body, light, aromatic, with a grain that moves in long parallel lines. Tzalam for the accent strip , denser, darker, a counterpoint that makes both woods more visible than they would be alone. Neither was chosen from a catalog. Both were reclaimed.
At 14.2 centimeters wide this is a smaller form, a bowl for a desk, a nightstand, a shelf. Objects at this scale are the ones that get picked up, turned over, held. The wall thickness is consistent throughout, the result of a single uninterrupted session at the lathe. Finished with Osmo oil and natural beeswax. Signed by the maker.
Care: wipe clean with a damp cloth. Refresh with beeswax once a year. Not dishwasher safe.
